Abstract

In the world and our country, women face certain difficulties in social and economic life due to their gender roles. With globalization, women are the first to be affected by economic contractions and crises. In Turkey, women's participation in the labor force lags behind that of women around the world. On the other hand, efforts to ensure women's equal participation in economic, social and cultural life are encouraged to overcome their disadvantaged position in society. Women's cooperatives are one of the most important tools to achieve these goals. Because cooperatives are the most important structures contributing to social and economic development in the world.

There has been an increase in the number of scientific studies on women's cooperatives. The study's aim is to examine the postgraduate theses on women's cooperatives that are available on the National Thesis Center between 2009 and 2024 in terms of various parameters. it was determined that most of the postgraduate theses were master's theses; they were conducted at the institute of social sciences; in the department of sociology; were conducted in the Marmara Region. Also, women's participation in economic and social life and their public visibility increased through cooperatives, but social empowerment outweighed economic empowerment.
