BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF ACADEMIC STUDIES EXAMINING THE RELATIONSHIP OF DIGITALIZATION AND PRODUCTIVITY IN THE TOURISM SECTOR

The concept of digitalization, which has become widespread has greatly affected the tourism industry as well as other sectors. The advances that have emerged with Industry 4.0 have significantly improved the multifaceted and integrated structure of the industry. Increasing competition in the tourism sector, as in all sectors, has drawn attention to the concept of efficiency, which has been the most important driving force of digitalization, It will be useful to reveal the studies investigating the effects of digital transformation applications on productivity, which is defined as productivity power, and the relations between these studies in the tourism sector. From this point of view, bibliometric analysis of academic studies dealing with the relationship between digitalization and productivity in the tourism sector has been made. Web of Science and Scopus databases were searched using the keywords productivity, tourism and digital, and the reached studies were analyzed and visualized with the VOSviewer software tool. The relationships between the publications are presented based on the data obtained as a result of the co-occurrence analysis of the keywords “tourism”, “digital” and “productivity”. It has been revealed that the intensity of productivity studies and digitalization productivity related studies in the tourism sector is high, but there is a significant gap in the tourism sector in terms of digitalization efficiency related studies.
